About Us
Our Mission
The
mission of the Elk Bend Fire Protection District is to provide the best
possible fire protection within the boundaries of the District. To protect the lives,
property and the environment. The
district accomplishes this through training, properly maintained
equipment and public education. The
district shall maintain the highest level of readiness enabling
delivery of fire suppression in a safe, competent and caring manner.
The Elk Bend
Fire Protection District covers 23-1/2 miles
along the Salmon River,
between the towns of Salmon and Challis ID. The District
encompasses the area between the "45th Parallel" sign (approximately
12 miles south of Salmon on Highway 93), and Cow Creek.
