Effective 5 April 2008, all persons wishing to burn within the District are required to obtain a Burn Permit from the Elk Bend Fire Protection District, before any burning will be allowed within the District. This is for the protection of all property owners within the District borders, and is to ensure that the District is aware of those persons burning on any given day. This is so that we can plan the most efficient use of District equipment and personnel. This does not replace the required burn permit from the BLM or U.S. Forest Service; those are still required during the burning season. Call 208-756-5157 for more info. Those wishing to burn should call one of the following, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ONLY!
